Looking for A New Management Company?

The quality of your management company will directly affect the success of your real estate investments. So when it's time to choose a firm to manage your property, have this list with you as you interview new firms and ask them:

Is your firm an Accredited Management Organization (AMO®) recognized by the Institute of Real Estate Management?

Are your property managers Certified Property Managers (CPM®) or CPM candidates?

Are you Accredited Residential Managers (ARM®) or ARM candidates?

Is your firm an active member of the local apartment association?

Do you have separate trust accounts for each client rather than a master trust account with multiple owners' funds?

Do you have an in-house accountant that reviews the monthly income and expense statements?

Do you have a one million dollar ($1,000,000) fidelity bond for all corporate employees?

Do you provide 24-hour on-call emergency maintenance service through a “live” answering service?
